KRONOS PRESENTS: KRONOS FESTIVAL 2018

To be invited by Kronos Quartet to be artist-in-residence for this year’s Kronos Festival was a thrilling and unexpected gift. I have to pinch myself from time to time as I still have difficulty accepting that this improvising old Punk noisemaker was given the opportunity to tell some of his musical story on a stage with some of the world’s most astonishing and genre-breaking creative artists. I saw it as a kind of personal mission to use this opportunity to share some of the sounds and colours from my sonic imagination and some of the prized possessions from my instrumentarium. Together, with David Harrington, Janet Cowperthwaite and Kronos Quartet, we tried to curate as broad a set of musical landscapes that we could dream.
