August 2015 - Discreet + Oblique: The Music of Brian Eno

August saw myself and my brother-in-music, Leo Abrahams, crossing the oceans (for the third time this year) to Melbourne, Australia, to make and premier our new collaboration celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Brian Eno's seminal "ambient" album, DISCREET MUSIC, with The Necks, Golden Fur and Matthew Brown, as one of the commissioned headline productions for the inaugural SUPERSENSE Festival curated by Sophia Brous at Melbourne Arts Centre. It was a beautifully intense week rewarded by a sold out house and a beautiful moment shared together on stage.

"Featuring nine performers, including improvisational masters The Necks, this tactile reimagining of Eno’s 1975 album, Discreet Music, was a profound affair... the piece blossomed with lyrical orchestral loops and harmonic dissonance."
